Natural Materials
Natural Materials
Made in with:
- Clay: The primary material for ceramics, clay is sourced from local deposits in Goiás. It is rich in minerals and has a smooth texture, making it ideal for shaping and molding.
-
Water: Essential for preparing the clay, water is mixed with the clay to create a workable consistency. The quality of water can affect the final product, so clean, fresh water is preferred.
-
Glazes: Glazes are used to coat the ceramic piece, giving it color, texture, and protection. In Goiás, natural glazes made from local minerals and oxides are often used to achieve earthy, organic tones.
-
Natural Oxides: For coloring the clay and glazes, natural oxides sourced from the region are used. These oxides can produce a range of colors, from earthy browns to vibrant greens.
- Firing Materials: Wood or other organic materials are used as fuel for the kiln. These materials are often sourced locally and contribute to the organic nature of the ceramic process.
